Avacados to help lower BP

So what is with this great green Fruit, yes fruit. Why are avocados such a great thing and why should you be eating more of them .
Well here are just a few reasons why they are great for you and your your overall health.
Avocados are packed with vitamins, minerals, and essential fats that are vital for optimum health and well being in these dot com times.
Avocados provide more than 25 essential nutrients, including fiber, potassium, Vitamin E, B-vitamins, and folic acid. Also containing a beta-sitosterol they help to maintain healthy cholesterol levels.
They help balance cholesterol levels and help to prevent heart attacks and strokes. In one study of people with moderately high cholesterol levels, individuals who ate a diet high in avocados showed clear health improvements after seven days. Avocados have also been to aid in the regulation of blood pressure. Avocados are an excellent source of the amino acid lecithin which prevents liver overload, boosts memory and helps to balance weight.

The avocado pulp has also been shown to be both antibacterial and anti fungal, so it helps our immune systems fight off disease. Studies have also shown that avocado has properties to prevent breast cancer and especially oral cancer. Avocados have also been shown to help your body absorb more nutrients from other foods.

So add avacodos to a salad, have them as a dip.

Just What did the doctor order......





Ok everyone

we are back and in full swing again at the 3pk blog.



So it is time for you yearly check up with your physican or you are over due.



The first question is why are you waiting. Just like everything you need to make sure your body is running in proper order.




  1. book appointment.

  2. Talk to your doctor about getting a full blood work up even if you feel good. Why you ask: because how can you improve on your health profile if you do not know where it is at.

  3. so here are the test that you should be gettig done to keep track of your health. ( further you should have a copy for your own records and to help with motivation.)

  4. General test SMAC 20 or Chem 20- looks at 20 parts of your boold from mineral profile to mineral profile.

  5. cardiovascular risk profile- Looks a total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, triglycerides, C reactive protein, homocysteine

  6. liver function test - Alkaline Phosphatase, GGT,SGOT,SGPT, Bilirubin,

  7. kidney function test- Creatinine, BUN, creatinine/ BUN ratio

  8. carbohydrate tolerance- (yes even if you do not have diabetes) Fasting insulin fasting gulcose.

  9. thyriod panel- TSH, T3, T4, rT3

  10. Hormones- Testosterone, free testosterone, IGF-1, Growth hormone, DHEA/ DHEAs, estradiol

  11. And for men prostates tests : PSA.

Ok so make sure you get a copy of the tests and a print out of the acceptable ranges.
